The Info-Day on the adaptation of the Region of Central Greece to climate change, which took place online on Tuesday, 17 January 2023, was a great success and drew large attendance. It was the 5th of a series of info-days held by the LIFE-IP AdaptInGR project aiming to inform and raise awareness of the citizens of Central Greece for the adaptation of their Region to climate change, as well as on their "Regional Adaptation Action Plan (PeSPKA)". LIFE-IP AdaptInGR info-days have already been held in the Regions of Western Greece, Crete, Ionian Islands and Western Macedonia, while similar days  are planned for the rest of the 8 Greek Regions.

The info-day was co-organized by the Union of Regions of Greece (ENPE), the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece (KEDE) and the Region of Central Greece in the context of the LIFE-IP AdaptInGR project. The General Secretary of Natural Environment and Waters of the Ministry of Environment and Energy, Petros Varelidis, the Deputy Regional Governor for Environment of the Region of Central Greece, Ilias Kyrmanidis, the President of the Energy, Environment and Climate Change Committee of EN.P.E. and Regional Governor of Western Macedonia, Georgios Kasapidis, and the President of the Energy, Environment and Waste Management Committee of K.E.D.E. and Mayor of Agrinio, George Papanastasiou, welcomed the participants and opened the event.

Distinguished scientists, local government officials, professionals and representatives of key stakeholders, with an important role in the implementation of the PeSPKA, informed the large audience on the one hand, about the impacts of climate change on its region and, on the other hand, on the LIFE-IP AdaptInGR pilot projects for the Region of Central Greece.

The presentations focused on the most climate -vulnerable sectors of the Region, such as agriculture and animal husbandry, public health, natural environment and cultural heritage, and were followed by a interesting discussion, allowing the representatives of civil society to raise  key questions and make substantive interventions .

The 5th Info- Day concluded with the screening of two films, arranged by the Hellenic Society for Environment and Culture (ELLET). The documentary  "Forms of Life, Forms of Breath" (2011), directed by Vangelis Efthymiou and the short film "Climate Consciousness". The first is dedicated to biodiversity, with the camera following 14 scientists who attempt to provide evidence and examples of the state of biodiversity and human perception, from the tops of the mountains to the depths of the seas. The second is the winner of a Special Prize of the 1st Student Competition organized by the LIFE-IP AdaptInGR project, in 2021.
