Greece’ s climate projections are now available online

The LIFE-IP AdaptInGR project has produced new climate projection data and maps to further support mainstreaming  of adaptation across policies and projects in Greece. Twenty two (22) climatic indices have been produced for three  IPCC greenhouse gas emissions scenarios, (RCP 2.6, RCP4.5 and RCP8.5) and for two future periods (2031-2060 and 2071-2100) relative to the reference period 1971-2000 (baseline).
The climate projections have been produced from the average of 7 selected pairs of Global Climate Models (GCMs)/regional climate models (RCMs) that have been developed under the EURO-CORDEX programme. The resolution of the projection is 12 km. 
High resolution GIS maps for the 22 climate indices have been produced based on the climate projections. The resolution  of the maps is approx. 500m after applying spatial interpolation methods.

The LIFE-IP AdaptInGR project  is the most important project for adapting Greece to climate change. The project is coordinated by the Ministry of Environment and Energy.
