The LIFE-IP AdaptInGR was presented in the ADAPT2CLIMAtool presentation event, on Wednesday, 26 February 2020, in the meeting room of the Regional Council of Western Greece in Patras.
During the event, Dr. Stephanos Papazisimou from the Region of Western Greece and Dr. Gianna Kitsara from the National Observatory of Athens presented their activities under the LIFE-IP AdaptInGR project and highlighted the synergies and collaboration opportunities between the two projects. The ADAPT2CLIMAtool enables well-informed decision-making for adaptation planning in agriculture and contributes to the LIFE-IP AdaptInGR goal of boosting the implementation of the National Adaptation Strategy in Greece. The ADAPT2CLIMAtool presents the impacts of climate change on crop performance and water availability in general through interactive visualization maps and graphs, which could be used to enhance understanding of climate change and its impacts on agriculture in order to support farmers, policy makers, agronomists, agribusiness industry, etc. in adaptation planning.
The ADAPT2CLIMAtool will be accessible in the future through National Adaptation Hub, which will be developed in the framework of LIFE-IP AdaptInGR.
The event was attended by RWG employees responsible for the development and implementation of regional rural policies, as well as representatives of agricultural cooperatives and businesses related to agricultural products in Western Greece.
